With no formal training, I got sparked by painting at Esalen over 15 years ago. I continued to be inspired by the creativity retreat at Spirit Rock, Sara Means, Toni Littlejohn and Wild Carrots, Cuba and Mt. Tam.
What drew me to painting? Expressing myself on paper, being transported deeper into myself, pure fun playing with colors and textures. Delighted by the surprise of what comes out of me—the beautiful and the ugly.
My art has always been a very personal, private process. But recently, it felt time to take my work out from under the bed and into the world. I feel a bit naked and vulnerable to be sharing it, as it feels like I am saying, “Here I am world, this is who I am!” Sharing this work with you is an important step in fully claiming all parts of myself.
Thank you for your willingness to be a witness to this process.
